Emergency humanitarian assistance for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake

On January 1, 2024, a large earthquake with a seismic intensity of 7 occurred in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture.

A tsunami has also occurred, and there are still concerns about aftershocks, We would like to express our condolences to those who lost their lives in this earthquake, and extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected, Since the earthquake, NICCO has begun collecting information centered on its Kyoto headquarters, and has decided to collaborate with local NPOs and other organizations to provide support to disaster victims.On January 6th 2024, an investigation and support team led by President Mari Katayama and Vice President Junichiro Katayama set out for isolated disaster-stricken areas in Wajima City, For the time being, we plan to conduct needs assessments at evacuation centers and other locations, distribute daily necessities, and support the lives of those affected by the disaster.
