Hello It’s NOBU.
I’m a new intern who came to Jordan after Mr. Sasaki.
I will update the life in Jordan and what we do here.
まずは自己紹介から。
First of all, let me introduce myself.
京都の大学生、のぶです。
大学では政治を勉強しており、特に国際関係を専攻しています。その中でもシリア内戦に興味があり、その大規模紛争を止める手段はないかと日々頭を悩ませています。
ところで、好きな食べ物はだし巻き卵です。
I’m a university student in Kyoto.
My major is politics with special interest in international relations. Among them, I am especially interested in the Syrian war, concerning about how to stop the large-scale conflict day by day.
By the way, my favorite food is omelet.
最初のブログは何にしようかと悩んだ結果、
初めて中東ヨルダンの地に降り立ち、衝撃を受けたことを紹介します！！
I was carefully thinking of what to write down in my first blog.
But, I decided to introduce that were shocked in Jordan because it is the first time for me to visit Middle East.
①ヨルダンは意外と暑くない！
It is not extremely hot as I expected in Jordan!
②ヨルダンの運転は日本に比べて危険度が高い！
Driving in Jordan can be dangerous.
③首都アンマンは都会なんです！
The capital Amman is flourishing.
④ヨルダンでは多くの男性は髭もじゃ、女性は髪や肌を隠してる！
A lot of men have beard, and women cover their hair.

①ヨルダンは意外と暑くない！
It is not extremely hot as I expected in Jordan!
ヨルダンはひどく暑いと思っていませんか？
僕もここに来るまではそう思っていました。
首都アンマンと東京の8月の平均最高気温を比べてみます。
アンマン：約32度
東京 ：約31度
約1度アンマンの方が高い結果となりました。（参考：Weather Spark）
Do not you think Jordan is extremely hot?
I thought so until I came here.
I will compare the average high temperature in August between the capital city Amman and Tokyo.
Amman: about 32 degrees
Tokyo: about 31 degrees
Amman was higher by about 1 degree.
しかし、アンマンの8月の降水量はほぼ0です！！！
乾燥により非常にカラッとしているため体感で言えば日本よりも涼しいです。
日本で感じるような夏の蒸し暑さは全くありません！！
However, the rainfall in August is almost 0 in Amman! ! !
Therefore, It is so dry that I feel cooler here than Japan.
We are not discomfort because it is not humid unlike Japan! !
ただし日差しがきついため、サングラスと日焼け止めは必須アイテム。
そして、非常に乾燥しているので、毎日鼻血が出ます。
However, sunglasses and sunscreen are indispensable items because the sunlight is so hard.
And, it is very dry, so I have nosebleed every day.

②ヨルダンの運転は日本に比べて危険度が高い！
Driving in Jordan can be dangerous.
NICCOの日本人スタッフは海外では車を運転しないため、タクシーを使う機会が多いのですが、タクシーに乗った時に日本との違いを感じます。
車線が存在しないこと、信号も少ないことに気づきました。
なので、横入りはよく見られますし、少しの隙間があれば入り込みます。
積極的に入らないと動けません。
We found differences of road environments when we are in taxi.
Japanese staffs of NICCO don’t drive a car in foreign countries.
I noticed there was no lines and not many traffic lights.
So, it is normal to cut into a small space between cars.
You can’t move unless you manage to cut in,
何かあればクラクションの嵐
ずっとプッププップ鳴ってます笑
怖すぎるのでいつもシートベルトを力いっぱい握りしめています。
If something happens, a storm of horn is occurred.
I hear sound of horn all the time.
I’m so scared that I always hold seat belt tightly.
僕も日本では運転しますが、
ヨルダンでは運転しない方がよさそうです。
I drive in Japan,
but I cannot do that in Jordan.
③首都アンマンは都会なんです！
The capital Amman is flourishing.
ヨルダンと聞くと貧しい田舎なんじゃないかと思っている方はいらっしゃいませんか？
少なくとも首都であるアンマンはそうではありません！！！
Is there anyone who think that Jordan is a poor countryside?
Not at all at least in the capital Amman! ! !

Downtown in Amman. There are many people and cars.
首都アンマンは人と物で溢れています。
必要なものはスーパーマーケットやショッピングモールで全て揃います。
The capital city Amman is full of people and things, it is a very flourishing.
You can get everything you need in a supermarket or shopping mall.
カフェが人々の溜まり場となっており、そこで仕事終わりにシーシャ（水たばこ）を吸いながらトランプをする姿がみられます。
A cafe is crowd with people and you can see them playing cards smoking Shisha after work.

Card games make relationship strong.
④ヨルダンでは多くの男性は髭もじゃ、女性は髪や肌を隠してる！
A lot of men have beard, and women cover their hair.
日本とヨルダン何が違うかというと
まずは行き交う人の容姿が全く違います。
男女ともに面長のくっきり二重で鼻が高く、長身の方が多いです。
What is different between Japan and Jordan
First of all, the appearance is totally different.
Many males and females are long-faced with distinct eyes and tall nose.
男性はくち髭、あご髭をたっぷりと蓄えています。
髭は男らしさの象徴であり、一人前の男を表しているのです。
髭の生えない僕は赤ん坊だと言われます。
Men have a plenty of mustache and beard.
mustache and beard are symbol of man.
They call me baby because I have no beard.
イスラム教徒の女性は布で髪や肌を覆っています。
服装には様々な種類があり、種類によって覆う範囲が異なります。
最も一般的なのがヒジャブです。
布で髪の毛を隠します。
中には綺麗な色や柄もあり、おしゃれの一つとしても使えます。
ヒマールはヒジャブよりも隠す面積が大きく、背中まで覆います。
ニカブは漆黒の布で目以外の全身を隠します。
Muslim women cover their hair and skin with clothes.
There are some clothes varying in size.
Hijab is most general clothes which cover only hair.
Among them, there are beautiful ones that can be used as stylish items.
Khimar is larger than hijab, which hides even the back.
Niqab is black and hides whole body except eyes.

Registration team. They are so friendly and kind. Sincere in work.

文化の違いから驚くこともたくさんありますが、
