Salam (Hello in Persian), this is Akimoto from NICCO Mashhad office. It seems that Iran is going to be colder than usual, so it becomes quite cold in Mashhad as well.
Let’s go to the bazaar if you come to Iran.
This time I would like to introduce about ‘Bazaar’ where is one of my favorite places in Iran. As its name suggests, bazaar is a market, and it has roof (arcade) in general. You can buy most of everything in bazaar, such as jewelry, foods, spices, clothes, miscellaneous goods, dairy necessaries, medicines etc. Also you can find restaurants and tea shops in bazaar. Of course, bazaar is the famous for Persian carpet as a specialty product, and the price of the great quality. It would be surprisingly cheaper in here compared to the price in Japan for purchasing the same carpet.
Bazaar has existed since the past mainly in the Middle East and West Asia countries along with Iran. It is called as ‘Suk’ in Arabic, also it called as ‘Charsh’ in Turkish. In Iran, it so called ‘Bazaar” in English as normally since the word ‘Bazzar’ comes from Persian language.
In addition, bazaar is not only commercial facilities, but also it operates more like composite facilities including production bases and warehousing functions, since there are several studios of Coppersmith and Persian carpet, even there are mosques inside bazaar.
