本日は、私たちがシリア人とヨルダン人の子どもたちを対象に実施している英語教室の講師である、マラック先生をご紹介したいと思います。

「私、マラック・シャハデフは、英文学及び教養科目の学士号を有しており、2013年にボランティアとしてNICCOで働き始め、現在ではシリア人とヨルダン人の子どもたちのための英語教師として勤務しています。

ほとんどの子どもたちは英語がとても苦手であり、そのため、私は子どもたちに基礎英語を教えています。生徒たちがヨルダンの教育課程を修了し、一般のヨルダン人の生徒に付いていくための正しい知識を教授することを、私たちは主に目指しています。」

「ものを教えるということへの情熱によって、私は、自身の教授スキルを磨くという次のステップへと進むことになりました。私は英語教授法の分野の修士課程に進学しました。そこでは、現代の有益な方法論の中で、子どもたちを教授するための私の能力と知識を強化しました。

シリアと国境を接する国に住んでいるために、シリア難民危機が始まって以来、私たちはその危機を体験しました。私は、彼らの―――特に子どもたちの苦しみの一端を取り除くことができるような人間になりたいと願いました。私はそのような機会を与えてくれたNICCOに、とても感謝しています。もし誰かに手を差し伸べる機会を得たのであれば、迷わずそれを受け入れるべきなのです。

Salam! (Hello!)

This is Shinji Yasuda from NICCOD Jordan Office.

Today, I would like to introduce Teacher Malak who is a teacher of the English class held by NICCOD for Syrian and Jordanian children.

“My name is Malak Shhadeh. I have a bachelor’s degree in English literature and cultural studies. I have started working at NICCOD since 2013 as a volunteer and now I’m an English teacher for Syrian and Jordanian children.

I teach the children basic English as most of them are really weak in this language. Our main purposes are to provide the students with the appropriate knowledge to meet the goals of the Jordanian schools and to cope with general Jordanian students.

My passion toward teaching pushed me to take a step forward in which I can develop my teaching skills, so I started my master degree in English teaching methodologies which will enhance my abilities and knowledge to teach the students in modern productive ways.

As we live in a neighbor country to Syria, we lived the crisis since it started. I wished to be a person who can relieve a part of their suffering specially the children’s. I am so grateful to NICCOD for giving me this opportunity. If anyone has got a chance to help someone, he/ she should take it without hesitation.

Believe me, you will find true happiness through helping others.
